Daer reader,
My name is D. and I am 30 years old. I am from Mali. I have arrived in Greece 6 months ago. I am living alone in the refugees’ camp in Samos. In the camp, there is a lot of suffering. The food is not good. I had stomach pain and I went to the hospital but the doctor neglects the patients. I became insomniac.
The toilets are not working. During the night, there are rats and snakes. The Greek police do not respect the asylum seekers. There is no electricity. Each day, each person has the right to have only 1 liter of water. We have no other choice than drink from the tap water in the toilets. We have no shoes, no clothes. In the camp, everybody is sick. We cannot have clear conscience. Each day, we suffer. The police threat to hit us, we can say nothing. We suffer a lot.
My aunt lives in France, I would like to reach her. I am a carpenter since I am 15 years old. I would like to go back to my work.
